HCV Treatment Guidelines - ALASKA |
Prisoner Health Plan for the Alaska Department of Corrections
Hepatitis C Treatment Guidelines Recently I had the opportunity to talk with the Alaska Department of Corrections Medical Director John Robertson in Anchorage Alaska. I asked if there were hepatitis C treatment guidelines put in place and he stated that there were no guidelines that had been written but that they refer to the Federal Bureau of Prison treatment guidelines and the National Institutes of Health Consensus Statement on the Management of Hepatitis C 2002. Treatment for hepatitis C is evaluated case by case. Hepatitis C Screening I asked if there was screening for hepatitis C and he said that at present there was no hepatitis C screening for prisoners in Alaska.
